Design rationale :

The cementless revision femoral component is a long version of the HACTIV®. It is an integrant part of the Scanos Total Hip System. The design is the result of years of investigation into the long term clinical results of round stems, quadrangular stems or trapezoidal designs. If round designs seem stronger and more massive they can lead to stress shielding.

If the optimum shape for a revision component has now reached a consensus the fact as to whether a revision stem should be cemented or cementless, collared or non collared, flexible or locking has not yet been clearly outlined in literature.

For this reason the REACTIV™ revision component is available in a complete array so to suit each advocate of each option in accordance with his individual operating techniques and choice.

The REACTIV™offers surgeons a choice of five sizes, 12-14-16-18-20, in collared or non-collared versions., cemented or cementless, flexible or distal locking.

Distally the Scanos flexible REACTIV™ revision stem has 2 coronal slots which confer elasticity to the implant and hence adaptability to the femoral curve. It is also available in a distal locking version.

Product features :

Forged titanium alloy construction
12/14 standard micro grooved taper
Collar version available
